Cars obsession

I haven't shared many stories of Dalton lately. He has been completely obsessed with cars (cars the movie, and any car truck, ambulance, fire truck, police cars) since his first birthday. Then when we visited Texas for Christmas, Nana and Papa introduced him to the movie Cars. And all of our lives have been changed. For a while all he wanted to do was watch Cars and now he could play cars all day long.

As many of you know Cars 2 is coming out in a few weeks. So this has blossomed the obsession even more. Every where the movie is being advertised..... I took Dalton to the grocery store and I was buying cereal. One of the boxes had mater, lighting mcqueen and the new race cars. He got so excited I decided I could buy it, since I was already going to buy cereal and this box happened to be on sale. It was a good thing for both of us, so I thought. We checked out, he carried the box home and walked it inside the house. Then he wanted me to open it. I gave him some cereal and he looked like I was handing him a handful of dirt. He kept saying "cars, cars" I took the entire bag of cereal out and showed him that there were no cars in the box, and it broke his heart. He cried and cried for 15 minutes.

After that he was fine, I did learn alot that day. I need to be more careful about what I let him have and explain to him what he is getting before I give it to him.
