7 months!!

I can't believe he is already 7 months! I think I say that every month though :)

He is sitting up
rolling over from tummy to back
eating baby food
says mama and dada
plays nonstop when he is awake
sleeps 11-12 hours at night but now only naps a day
top tooth has almost come threw (has 2 bottom teeth)
loves to skype with his grandparents
loves music!
still a mama's boy
had one sunday this month he stayed in the church nursery the whole service (one and only time ever)

thats about it! He is still growing everyday and the perfect baby :)

Exhaustion

Dalton only took one and half naps today. So tonight about 7 he started going downhill fast. He ate one last time and fell asleep in my arms but he pooped right before he crashed. Gavin and I both smelled it at the same time. It has been a huge struggle lately to get him to go down so the last thing we wanted to do was to wake him up to change his diaper. We walked back to his room and smelled him one more time.... He definitly had pooped. So Gavin laid him down on the changing table expecting him to scream from frustration, but he just laid there sound asleep. We changed his diaper and he did not even flinch. He stayed asleep through the entire thing! It was amazing!

Baby Food!

I got to make our own baby food! I made carrots a few days ago and it took alot longer than I thought. Mostly because I was interupted by Dalton waking up or wanting to eat. However it was the best feeling ever to have accomplished that. It is so silly but I was proud to have made my own food. I just thought I would share. :)

Pee Story

Nicole asked me to share a story from the other night...
So I (Gavin) was getting Dalton undressed for bath time in his room on the changing table. To get the full understanding of what is about to happen you need to know that there we're no lights on in his room, just the hall light was on. So it was a little dim in the back corner by his changing table.
So there we we're, getting the diaper off... rolling it up and tossing it in the diaper genie when out of the corner of my eye I see Dalton violently shaking his head back and forth. I look over at him and see the strangest expression on his round little face... to say he has a pout on his face would be an understatement.
It wouldn't have usually taken me this long to figure out what is going on, but like I said the light was a little dim in his room.
I finally realized that Dalton's changing table had little wet spots all over it, and that's when I put two and two together. The violent head shake, the pouty face... Dalton had peed everywhere, including his own face. I actually saw a fountain-esk stream from his weenie to his face, so I quickly grabbed a burp cloth to cover him up.
Poor little guy! It was probably the funniest thing I have ever seen.
Luckily he was heading to the tub anyway, right?!

Dalton sits up alot now and plays with his toys. He is getting so big I can't believe it!

good days

I think everyday is a good day. Even the days I don't get sleep or he wants to be held (even though he is 25lbs). Each moment is amazing I will never be able to get these moments back. So many people just rush threw the days or can't wait until the next nap. I honestly love every moment. I have wanted to be a mom as long as I can remember. I only have a few years before he starts kindergarden and then he won't want to be with me all the time. Dalton does not like others to hold him or at church he cries until I come get him. Some people think I am crazy for getting him every time he cries. But who am I to say okay God you gave me this child but I am too busy for him. My mom says I was the same way so maybe I connect with him that way. I love Dalton so much and I would do anything for him. God has truly blessed my life!

Food!

Dalton is eating baby food now. He is still not a fan... except for his rice cereal. It is so fun to see his face when he tries a new food. So far we have tried squash and sweet potatoes and neither a success.

6 month appointment

We just got back from Dalton's 6 month well baby check up! He weighs 25.11 lbs and is 28 1/2 inches long! He is over 100% in both height and weight. He is one healthy boy :)

I still can't believe he is 6 months. We took him to the beach on Tuesday for his 6 month pictures and we learned he does not like the beach. He hated the sand and the sun. However he loved watching the waves crash up against the rocks.

Mama

Dalton learned how to say Mama last week.Thursday morning he woke up and just decided to say it. I wanted to wake Gavin up and show him but I thought he would stop saying it as soon as I did. BUT he kept saying and needless to say he hasn't stopped saying it. He realized I get to him really fast when he says Mama. Now it is more like mamamamama but still I get excited. It is the best thing in the whole world!
