We had a perfect valentine's day!
The kids and I went to the duck pond, the park then met Gavin for lunch at Chickfila! Gavin got shayne a love bug that she hasn't stopped playing with. Dalton got lots of candy, shirts and car. I got breaking dawn part one! Gavin and I had a movie night once the kids went down. It was a great day.

We decided to have a family day where everything was blue! Dalton woke up and had blue oatmeal out of a blue bowl. Then he went on a bike ride with gavin wearing blue jeans, blue shirt, and blue shoes on a blue bike with his blue helmet. Ok so you get the picture :). We even got the sprinkler out because dalton for over heated at the park. Only on California could you play in the sprinkler in February. It was a great day and we all had fun!

Today has been a great day! It is just one of those days when you just have to smile thinking about it all. Our little family has a lot going on right now but sometimes I just have to realize that I am truly blessed to have my kids and husband. I am trying to enjoy every minute with them! Dalton and Shayne change everyday and I don't want to miss anything. Today I got out my camera and just took pictures as we played in the back yard. I usually just take pictures with my phone so it was a nice change to pull out my camera.

Dalton has so many interest lately I love seeing his personality change as he grows. His main hobby is sports, any type he would plays sports all day long. He loves to play t-ball, soccer, hockey, football and basketball. Of course he still plays with his cars daily. Music is another passion of his. We got him a band in a box for Christmas and he will go around and give every person and instrument and we all play together. He also got a drum set from Grammy which he plays when he wakes up in the morning and nap time.
However my favorite activity is art time. Dalton won't do it every day but when he does it blows me away every time. He is so particular about what color he uses and it is so special because it is uniquely his!

Gavin and I have been working outside trying to get our house ready to put on the market and dalton has been our little helper.
If you haven't heard. We are putting our house on the market in the next few weeks. When it sells we will see where God is calling us next. Gavin has turned in his resume a few places but nothing in California so we will see what God has planned for us in this next chapter of our lives. Please keep us in your prayers as we transition.

I can not believe it has been 3 months since I had my beautiful baby girl! She has changed so much and has me wrapped around her finger just like her brother does.

Dalton had to be in the picture too. He was so funny about not sitting on her sign but wanting to put his arm around her. SO we got a picture of him putting his hand on her head :).

Dalton wanted to paint a few days ago! I had to change shayne's diaper and dalton was strapped in his chair so I felt ok leaving him at the table while I was a few feet away. When I looked up he had it all over him.

The morning started out good, I had one happy baby girl and Dalton's cold was getting better. Then chaos.... I changed shayne's diaper and she had bloody diarrhea. So I called the doctor and they wanted her in right away or I needed to take her to the emergency room. Those are words I never I want to hear. However they got her in the next hour. So I figured I needed to find a sitter(Gavin was at work) for dalton in case they sent us to the hospital. But dalton has been struggling with a cold so I didn't want to call anyone with kids because I didn't want them to get sick especially the week of Christmas. Luckily shawna saved the day and I was able to drop D off on the way to the doctor.

They checked her really good and sent me to the lab to check her stools. The doctor said she had colitis and I had to cut the milk out of my diet. Since I'm breast feeding he wanted me to keep doing that for few days and see if we could fight it that way and me just changing my diet. But he wanted to test her stools to make sure it wasn't an infection. So I had to take a test tube thing home and collect stools until it reached the line.... She is 2 months and her poop is liquid and diapers absorb her poop. so it was going to be a long process.

I picked up D and got him down for a nap. I got part of her samples in the "test tube" and knocked it over... It had special liquid in it so I called the lab to see if I could just send what I had, of course I had to go get a new "test tube." so I had a sleeping 2 year old a sleeping 2 month old. I wanted to get the samples to the lab as soon as I could. By this point I hit my limits and was do frustrated and worried. God gave us great neighbors and she was able to come sit with the kids while I ran to the doctor.

Needless to say I was exhausted and had three hours until Gavin came home from work. I made it about an hour and then both kids were screaming for one reason or another and I heard a knock at my door my sweet friend Megan showed up with dinner and was there to help me with the kids until Gavin for home!

God sent me three angels! Megan knew I was having a hard day and came right over, Shawna watched my sick little boy and kristi watched both kids the second I called. Thank you all!

Shayne is doing better today. Still a little fussy but no more blood, so we are praying it was just the milk. Dalton still has a cold but is doing much better too!

My little girl is two months old! I can't believe it!
She weighs 13 lbs 10.2 oz, and is 23 inches long, which is in the 90th percentile so a little smaller than her brother. The doctor laughed and told me God was giving me a little bit of a break and gave me a "small" baby but to any other person she would be big. She has already rolled over and sleeps through most of the nights. She coos, smiles and is really strong. It feels as if she has always been apart of this family!

God is wonderful and am reminded of that every time I look at my two kids.

It is gorgeous outside today, so I decided to take dalton and shayne to the park. I was nervous about taking both of them but I wanted to try. Dalton is use to going to the park almost daily and we haven't been able to go since I was on bedrest. It is so great to see him play and make new friends with the other children. I loved every minute and I think he did too!

We had our family day at oceanside today. Dalton had been asking to go back to the beach since we went with my parents. So we decided to go today on Gavin's day off. It was shayne's second time to go. She wasn't a huge fan, but dalton had a blast.

We hosted our first thanksgiving! Nothing turned out too terrible :) the green beans were cold and the sweet potatoes were a little runny but all around a great meal!! I am so glad my family came to spend the week with us.

Dalton had his first dentist appointment today! He was really good but wouldn't let them look in his mouth.... So he didn't cry or scream but said no every time they tried to look or take a picture. The dentist said it is just good to get him use to coming so hopefully he will get better each time we go. And best of all he didn't get upset about him using a pacifier! They said its so much better than him falling asleep with a bottle.

Time is flown by! I can not believe she is one month old already. She is such a good baby. I think the Lord knew what we could handle right now, with all the changes with the church and wondering where He is going to call us next. It is a blessing she has a mild temperament. Last night was one of the hardest and she only woke up 4 times. She has been only having to wake up once a night and she is only a few weeks!! We went to the doctor when she was 3 weeks and she was 10.5 lbs and 21 inches long. I think she has gained more. I love every single thing about her and am so thankful God put her in our lives.

Ridgeline officially merged with crosspoint this morning. It was a great service and wonderful to see our Ridgers there worshipping. Shayne got to go her first church service and poor dalton stayed home with nana because he isn't feeling very good. He even asked to go to the doctor so I knew he wasn't doing good.

Shayne's Delivery

My beautiful baby girl Shayne Michelle was born 10-12-2011!! I shared my story with Dalton's birth and needed to update you all on Shayne's. I had a scheduled c-section and it was so much better than I expected. I was terrified to be awake during a surgery but God put a peace on my heart and I knew it was going to be okay. Gavin was the best husband and kept me calm the entire time. It was really fast and then within the hour I was holding my precious girl. We stayed in the hospital for 3 days and now have been home for 2 1/2 weeks. My recovery is so much better than after I had Dalton and that is just a reassurance that we made the right choice. I also feel better than when I was pregnant with Shayne. God is so good!! I am truly blessed to have my two kids and know they are a gift.

This second pregnancy has been alot different than my first. I have been on bed rest for about 3 months. I have to keep reminding myself that it is all worth it and it will be a memory soon enough. I am so thankful to be able to have a second child and I know God would not put me through anything I could not handle. My mom, Gavin and my friends have been my heroes the past few months. I am totally useless and I have to think about my son through all of this. Dalton has been my sole focus for 2 years and it is hard to watch others care for him. He has adjusted so well and even pulls me to the couch as soon as I stand up. He is going to be a great big brother.

The next 18 years I will not be able to relax so I should enjoy the next few days. My csection is scheduled for next week! I have had mixed emotions about a csection since we got pregnant. Dalton's delivery was very hard on both dalton and I. He almost didn't make it and I had a long recovery afterwards. We have watched Shayne's size throughout the pregnancy and she is on the bigger size :). My last appointment my doctor, gavin and I decided it would be too risky to try to have a natural delivery again. So the csection was scheduled :). I can't wait to hold our little girl!!!

Sorry just had to ramble about what I have been going through.

I follow a preschool art blog and she recommended this idea. You let the child draw with markers and then let them use a paintbrush with water. He ended up dumping the water everywhere but it still kept him busy for a while.

Sharon took Dalton and Karis to feed the ducks and play on the playground. I know I have said it before but I am so thankful for friends. Dalton is use to going to the park every other day and I can't take him anymore.

I let Dalton fill up the pot today with noodles so he could be a helper. He had a 1/2 cup measuring cup and scooped the noodles out of the bag and into the pot. It took a long time but he was so proud! I need to let him help more often.

While the noodles were cooking he sat and stirred this bowl of noddles! It kept him busy and was a different texture he isn't use to. He had to make sure he didn't lose a noodle. He even cleaned up after he was done playing. I love my little boy so much!

We were going inside and I made Dalton take his shirt off because it was wet and he proceeded to grab it and dunk it in his water table. Apparently it could be wetter. But it kept him busy for a little but longer and that's all I can ask for nowadays.

Reading this just reminds me that God had a plan for shayne before she was even in my belly. God knows what he is doing and I need to remember that daily. It may be hard the next few months but it is well worth it and God won't give me anything I can't handle. Thank you Lord for this addition to our family.

30 weeks

Almost there!! (kinda) I am on bed rest and a few other things to help with the pain I am having during this pregnancy. I still have 10 weeks :) but praise the Lord for my ridgeline family. I would not survive without them. They have generously signed up to help with Dalton and bring meals. With our family so far away it is great to see what god does with the people around you. I am simply blown away by everyone's willingness to help.

Dalton has had a bad fever the last few days so he stayed home from church today. He is still not quite himself he painted for a little bit but then snuggled for the rest of the morning.

Daddy race car. Dalton got to see gavin and Taylor ride in go-carts and today at the dr's office he called his race car drive daddy.

Sick boy

Dalton had a 103 fever today and I hasn't been able to get it down so I called the nurse. I feel like that over protective mom but he was so sick when he was little I just get nervous. He is ok just has a bad virus. I did find out he weighs 37 lbs and 35.5 inches tall. He should be better in a few day but is contagious with his fever :(.

This is from last summer and I lost the plug for the pool. Then last Sunday I went through a crazy nesting phase and made Gavin clean the garage and we found the plug! It seems so much smaller than last summer but he still loves it!

Gavin has been gone alot the past few weeks and Dalton has needed some dad time. He has been home maybe an hour here and there but this morning is all about dad. So they are mowing (one of dalton's favorite things)

1-2-3 go!! We were waiting for gavin to come home from an early meeting and Dalton and I were running back and forth on the driveway (don't recommend for my pregnant friends). Then dad got home and he joined in on the fun.
